September Long Wknd - back @ the lake!

Hard to believe how we lucked out weather wise when some of my besties & I headed back to the lake for the long weekend! The water wasn't warm, but we went in anyways!

He also proceeded to stuff his face until we thought his cheeks would pop!

BEFORE the fire...on Sunday Eva happened to snap this pic as we headed by to the lake for supper...

And the next morning...this is what Village Corner in Vermilion Bay looked like...

A bunch of smoke & flames & rubble...

Some locals with apparently nothing better to do but back up the pick up, set up seats & watch.

There's a lot of people in the tiny town that are going to have to do a lot more cooking & grocery shopping until this place is rebuilt next year!

Bye bye Village Corner!

By the end of the long weekend, this is pretty much how is was left!

Hope everything works out for them to rebuild.

Remembering Summer Vacay - end wk 2

We kept this area abuzz with noise & activity...
Lots of jumping & great splash competitions, flips, flops, dives, etc...

And we checked out the houseboat @ the dock too...

(It's still there and I'm kind of expecting to see it there this winter in the ice maybe...)

It was a windy, windy day...which made the whole exploring thing very interesting for these two!
