A Bittersweet Morning View...

Ok...so if you were getting ready for another exciting day at work and happened to notice this stunning sunrise shining straight in your patio doors...it would likely be a sweet feeling...
Gorgeous, in fact.
But...then you glance down and remember...

Oh yeah...there is that bird that I heard hit the window...
That is the bitter part of my morning view and if anyone wants to remove it for me... I have no objections to that at all.

Alas, that was my morning at a glance...

Would love to upload sunrise pics but...

YEP, you guessed it...not able to upload pics AGAIN!
So I'll share a happy thought with you instead.
You will need to play along in your imagination...
Imagine that it is a typical mundane Wednesday and you are at work. The time is approximately 12:13pm and you are thinking about lunch, while answering an email, going through a customer file and talking to the staff member sitting in your office.
Suddenly...
*blink*
And there is no power!
An very unusual "hush" falls over the office, followed immediately by several quiet, hopeful cheers that the power will NOT be quickly restored. This brief and highly unusual quiteness is quickly followed by excited chatter, conversations of "times past" where the power remained off for a significant amount of time and several conversations about "man, the things I could accomplish if I had the afternoon off!"
So...that brings us to reality...
The time: 1:12pm
Still no power...staff get to go home.
The best part? That includes me!
Suddenly this pleasant, sunny fall day just got brighter and warmer and far better than expected.
Cheerful and excited thoughts flood the mind and endless possibilities present themselves.
The question: What to do with this exciting and unexpected opportunity...?
The reality: I must be old (or a lazy procrastinator)...my options are:
1) clean the condo
2) get the oil changed in the car
Wow...I don't think I can handle this kind of excitement!
Ok, fine...so I'm off to get the oil changed!
All just for you Dad! Yeah, yeah, change the oil every blah, blah, blah km's.
My next question: Can't they create cars that automatically clean & replenish the oil as needed?
Would this really cost that much extra?

Good Night Sun...

Best Buds
And their mother was worried that they weren't going to behave for Auntie to put them to bed.
Do these look like naughty faces?
(ok - they have their moments like normal kids, but at this moment they were perfect sweethearts)

Row, row, row your boat...

Gently down the stream...if you see a crocodile...

Miss 'Lys does a fine job of singing this song and reminds us all to scream if we see a crocodile while we are rowing our boat... You will then notice in the background that some noisy spectator "screams''...and then echos the word "crocodile"... Mr. Parrot himself.

Just listen...you'll see what I mean.

Excuse the fact that Alyssa gets cut off her next song, but the entire clip was too large to upload.

This was her song...1, 2, 3, 4, 5...once I caught a fish alive...6, 7, 8, 9, 10, then I let him go again...

Why did you let him go? 'Cuz he bit my finger so. Which finger did he bite?

This little finger on my right!

(she said, while holding up her left hand) :) Too cute!

This little man is a lot like his dad...

You will see what I mean as you notice that even at 18 months, he can talk a lot.

Also certain words in his vocabulary come as no surprise...you'll hear a couple of them here:

1) score & 2) hockey game

The next thing you will notice is a "sound" that he is also capable of making...but the reaction "it" gets...is soooo much like his dad!

Please notice Alyssa's reaction to the hockey game in the background (she could care less)...now that is a lot more like her Mother and her Auntie Lyd.

The "giving-thanks-that-we-could-eat" Weekend

Delicious Potato Soup
Well...you might not think that this was much of a "thanks-giving" meal...
But when your brother is on IV only, in hospital and not even allowed to eat ice chips or water...
Trust me...this AWESOME potato soup was even better!
Just ask Levi who had it dripping off his chin, ...
And his nose - as you can see!
'Lyssa was pretty happy about it too!!
This was during some of out serious "play dough" and "song" sessions.
Pancakes, bridges and cinnamon buns were the specialty of the day.
In song, we covered "twinkle, twinkle", "baa baa black sheep"..."a,b,c, d..."
Levi included...the kid loves to talk and sing!
Levi - telling me where to go and how to get there... I swear he said "Auntie...Hawaii!"
Who can argue w/ that?
Oh, actually maybe he said, "Auntie...I see?"
Whatever...in multiple choice they say...don't question your first instinct...
So I'm going w/ Hawaii...wait...he's going to Hawaii!
Rotten kid.
Now...this is very exciting...
*gasp*..."ockey game"...
Levi's favourite - Hockey!
Can you tell he was entralled?
On the road to recovery...(nice dress bro)...this was Day 7 of 10!
I'll keep my appendix if at all possible - thanks anyways!
